Personal Identification Requirements

We will require the following items to ensure your holiday is not delayed and require you to send us those within 5 days of you making your reservation with us :- 

2 items showing proof of residence of the hirer

1 Drivers license for each driver, the paper part only is acceptable.

2 A recent Utility Bill, Bank or Credit Card statement

In the event you forward photocopies at this time then

You MUST produce the original documents when collecting the vehicle.

(Note we cannot release the vehicle without these items being presented)

Smoking Ban

Smoking is strictly forbidden in any of the motorhomes and violation of this ban will risk the return of your security deposit and/or penalties imposed

Vehicle Familiarisation

There is plenty to cover during our vehicle familiarisation session, which lasts approximately 40 minutes. Please ensure that you allow time for this induction process. The vehicle is fully equipped, but you must bring your own bedding and towels.

For security a £500 CASH/CARD deposit is required on the day of hire ; this is returnable subject to inspection i.e providing the vehicle is returned in same condition as at commencement of hire.

Free parking for your vehicle

We have free parking at our depot if you wish to leave your car here at your own risk. Airport and train station pick up service may be available. You will be required to leave your vehicle keys with us and  will be issued to you upon return of the hired vehicle to our depot.

Breakdown Cover

Free breakdown cover is included in cost of hiring motorhome.

Eligibility

Only the persons specifically named on the reservation form are permitted to drive the hire vehicle.

Bookings and Payments

Telephone bookings may be made, but can only held for up to 5 days, within which time a booking deposit of £250 must be received by us. The booking deposit is non refundable in event of cancellation. (Please see our cancellation policy).

Along with the booking fee we must receive a completed reservation form.

BALANCE DUE IS REQUIRED WITHIN 28 DAYS OF COMMENCEMENT OF HIRE

Cancellation Policy

The hirer may rescind the rental agreement by means of a written declararation by up to 3 months prior to commencement of hire without being liable  to pay a cancellation fee against the balance due

If the hirer rescinds the rental agreement within the period of 3 months up to and including 1 month prior to commencement of hire of vehicle,then 40% of the balance due will be deemed to be payable by the hirer.

If the hirer rescinds the rental agreement within the period of 1 month up to and including 1 week prior to commencement of hire of vehicle,then 70% of the balance due will be deemed to be payable by the hirer.

If the hirer rescinds the rental agreement within the period of up to 1 week prior to commencement of hire of vehicle ,then 90% of the balance due will be deemed to be payable by the hirer.

Insurance

All motorhomes are comprehensively insured for the named drivers during the hire period only, £1000 excess is applicable.  Additional drivers can be added at an extra charge, details available on request.

Although the vehicle is comprehensively insured, this does not cover personal losses and we strongly advise you to take out travel and cancellation insurance cover prior to your holiday .

Every accident or damage to the vehicle must immediately be reported to D.G. Motorhomes by telephone and an accident form must be completed at the end of the hire period.

Any damage to tyres, windscreen and any theft of personal property is not covered by our insurance and any repair of such damage shall be at your expense.

Driving by non named drivers and any late return of a motorhome renders the insurance invalid and the driver would therefore be committing an offence under the Road Traffic Act, and will be solely responsible for any damages or personal injuries incurred.

Late returns will be surcharged at £50 per hour or part thereof.

We are able to insure most drivers between the ages of 25 - 75.  Over 75's can sometimes be accepted subject to the discretion and approval from our insurer.

Those drivers who have convictions and / or penalty points are subject to our insurance approval and may carry a surcharge which is chargable to the booking.

Limitations & Liabilities

D.G. Motorhome accepts:-

 no responsibility for replacement vehicle costs, travel or accomodation costs or any other loss claims arising from a motorhome breakdown or accident and /or any fault arising within the living accomodation of the said motorhome.

no liability for early curtailment of the hire by the hirer.

The hirer:

1 Is liable for any cost incurred for speeding or parking fines, congestion charges or any other offences committed under the Road Traffic Acts.

2 Shall not carry more passengers than the designated seating capacity of the vehicle and must ensure that seatbelts are worn by all passengers while vehicle is in motion.

3 Is liable for any negligence to this vehicle for the term of the contract or until it is returned to DG Motorhomes.

4 The contract ceases when the hire return date is met at times as agreed, at the time of contract.

5 The contract ceases when the vehicle is returned to our depot in accordance with 4 above, and is responsible for any costs arising whether direct or indirect in the event of late return of vehicle.

6 In the event of a vehicle becoming unavailable we reserve the right to substitute with another vehicle capable of meeting the sleeping arrangements for the number of persons in your party.

Vehicle Condition

Before commencement of the hire the hirer is advised to check the vehicle thoroughly before leaving the premises of D.G. Motorhomes.

The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as when hired with the interior and appliances clean ,toilets and waste tanks fully discharged. D.G. Motorhome will charge £30 for the  discharging of tanks, cleaning of any un-emptied chemical toilets and £50 for the cleaning of dirty carpets ,upholstery etc..and the removal of any strong lingering odours e.g smoke etc. Please see policy on Smoking Ban 

The cost of rectifying any damage will be charged to the hirer and in accordance with our damage repair charge list where applicable.Non listed items will be charged at costs prevailing at that time .The hirer wherever practicable and possible will be informed before any works is carried out for which the hirer is liable.

Damage incurred may delay the return of any deposit in full or part thereof.

Fuel, Gas & Water

At hire commencement a reading of the level of fuel, on the fuel gauge will be taken and recorded again upon the return of the  vehicle. The hirer is expected to return the vehicle with the same level of full as at start of hire.

In the event of the vehicle being returned without a similar level of fuel, then the hirer will be charged for any difference in fuel used.

If the vehicle is returned with a empty or near empty fuel tank i.e. if fuel warning light is activated, then there shall be a surcharge of £25 to cover inconvenience costs incurred by ourselves to refuel.

The hirer will be liable for the full costs of rectification involved in the event of the fuel tank being filled with the incorrect fuel, or if either fuel or water is incorrectly put into the vehicle tanks (i.e.water into fuel tank or fuel into water tank) or if the hirer runs the vehicle out of fuel.

The vehicle will be supplied with 2 bottles of gas. At least one of these bottles will be full. The cost of any refills thereafter will be the responsibility of the hirer, whom shall also ensure two bottles of the same type and size are returned with the vehicle with at least one bottle being full. In the event that none are full on return of vehicle then there will be a £25 charge for 8kg and £35 for 13kg.

We request that water tanks are filled with drinking quality water only,where possible and practicable,and DG Motorhomes accept no reponsibilty from the effects of any misfilling of same.i.e refilling with non drinking quality water.

We reccomend that  bottled water is used for drinking,cooking etc..On board water should be used for other than drinking,cooking etc..DG Motorhomes accept no liability or consequences arising from non compliance to this recommendation.

In the event misfilling takes place the hirer will be deemed reponsible,and shall inform DG Motorhomes of this situation upon return of vehicle so tanks can be flushed and sterilised accordingly. 

Right to recover losses.

Should the cost of damage to the hired vehicle exceed the security deposit, then the hirer is fully liable for that excess and grants D.G. Motorhomes full and unrestricted permission to charge accordingly.

The following items are excluded from the insurance cover :-

1) Windscreen, all other glass/windows and tyres

2) Loss/Damage/Theft to the radio, stereo and TV equipment

3) Interior damage including burns to seats, carpets etc

4) Vandalism damage of any kind to the vehicle.

5) Negligence of any kind.
